Dear friends,
Warm greetings to you in the name of Jesus.
Allow me to share a glimpse of my journey with you. I am Pr. Bala Sundaram, and my life has been touched by the grace of Jesus in profound ways. Born into a nominally Christian family, I faced early hardships as my father passed away during my childhood. However, my determination and academic prowess led me to complete my post-graduation and B.Ed., securing a job in a finance and investment company.
It was during this time that I encountered the life-transforming power of the Holy Bible. The words within its sacred pages resonated deeply within me, and I surrendered my life to Jesus. Fueled by a newfound passion, I made the life-altering decision to leave my job and enroll in Bible school.
My path led me to Emmanuel Theological Seminary, nestled in the enchanting state of Rajasthan. Initially aspiring to be a student, I was humbled when the authorities recognized my intellect and enthusiasm for the Holy Bible. They entrusted me with a teaching position, where I dedicated myself to study during the nights and share my knowledge during the day. Within a year, my commitment and dedication led to promotions, eventually reaching the esteemed positions of dean of students and dean of academics. For four remarkable years, I poured my heart into guiding and inspiring others through education.
During my time at Emmanuel Theological Seminary, I would challenge graduating students with a question: “Who among you will answer the call to be a missionary in North India?” Little did I know that God had plans for me, plans that would redirect my life’s course. In the midst of a graduation ceremony, as I addressed the audience, a divine message resonated within my heart. It was a calling, a direct message from God Himself, urging me to step out in faith and become the very missionary I had encouraged others to be. Without hesitation, I announced my resignation as the dean of academics, accepting the calling to serve the Lord in a new way.
Guided by a vision from God, I set my sights on Agra, a place where I sensed His presence and His people in need. On the 18th of May 2004, I arrived in Agra, ready to embark on this journey of service and devotion.
As I reflect on this remarkable journey, I am filled with gratitude for the support and blessings bestowed upon me. It is with a humble heart that I reach out to you, dear friends, to join hands with me and Jesus Mission. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who yearn for hope and compassion.
